Types of Acrylic Cake Stands For Your Cake

Acrylic cake stands have become extremely popular, and not just amongst budget-conscious brides and party planners! Acrylic stands are the perfect display solution for any style of event or cake, from modern to traditional.
Why? Because acrylic stands are perhaps the most versatile type of stand you can find. You can find them in all sorts of configurations, and because they are usually clear they easily fit in to any color scheme. Acrylic is a very durable, steady material, which makes it ideal for reliably supporting something as important as your cake. And their versatility means that you can re-use your acrylic cake stand after your for birthday parties, dinner parties, weddings or for any occasion that calls for a beautifully decorated item.

Types Of Stands
There is no right or wrong way to display a cake... it all depends on the look you are going for. But there are a few popular types of acrylic stands that brides and cake recipients love, and that show up on the cake table over and over again:
Traditional 3 Tier Stands
If you have a traditional 3 tier cake, you can find an acrylic cake stand to suit it. These are often round or square in shape, and often either plateau style, in which the layers are flat or raised evenly off the surface of the table, or pedestal style, in which the layers are raised on cake plates and supported by pillars.
Grouped Stands
In a grouped arrangement, single acrylic cake stands of various heights are grouped around one another on the cake table, and each layer of the cake is displayed on a single stand. This gives you the freedom to display your cake in unlimited ways, from a round arrangement to stair-stepped, and everything in between. This style works best with cakes that are more ornate and intricately decorated, or for cakes that have a unique shape.
Pillar Style Stands
Generally, pillar style acrylic cake stands have a cake plate and pillars between each layer of your cake. This is a great way to create more height to your cake, and also to add adornments to your cake such as flowers, ribbon or other decor. If you use high pillars under the base of your lowest layer, you can add decorations to the area right under your cake.
Tower Style Stands
Tower style acrylic cake stands have one center column right in the middle of the stand, with cake plates surrounding it. This is a great option of you want the height that a pillar style gives, but want a more modern, streamlined appearance to your cake. You can also add adornments easily to this style of cake stand.
